Meet your instructor and lay out your goals — whether it’s prepping for 3G, 4G, 6G, or dialing in TIG or Stick on a certain process. Select the joint, position, and material you’ll focus on.
0:15–0:30 — Test Process Breakdown
Review real-world test standards and what inspectors look for. Discuss key root pass issues, heat control, travel speed, and pass stacking. Ask questions about fit-up, bevels, and machine settings.
0:30–1:30 — Guided Weld Practice (Round 1)
Work through your chosen process or position with support. Whether it’s overhead MIG, TIG root, or Stick fill, you’ll get direct feedback on every pass. Clean, grind, and re-evaluate with the instructor.
1:30–1:45 — Break + Troubleshooting Q&A
Grab a break, compare techniques, and ask about real-world test conditions. We’ll review visual flaws, reinforcement control, and destructive test expectations.
1:45–2:45 — Final Prep Runs (Round 2)
Make a full weld start-to-finish under test conditions. Time it. Clean it. Review it with your instructor. Tighten up the weak spots. This is the pressure round — but with safety net coaching.
2:45–3:00 — Debrief + Certification Strategy
Get honest feedback on where you’re at. Plan your next move — whether that’s re-booking, testing at a cert facility, or applying for the job you’ve got lined up.welding project.
